Rodrick Shannon

(Greenville, MS - 10/14/05) - Rod Shannon is a native of Greenville, MS. He has traveled around the world two and a half times and has entertained thousands through song, instrumental music, theater, and comedy. He has been performing in these mediums since the tender age of three. His participation with various bands, choirs, groups, and ensembles are numerous. Shannon currently performs with the Mississippi Delta Jazz Connection as the male vocalist, percussionist, and drummer. He holds an Associates Degree in Music Education from Mississippi Delta Community College with an emphasis in percussion and a minor in voice. He is formally trained in every genre of music from Classical to Gospel in both instrument and voice.

Shannon is also a member of the Mississippi Army National Guard where he performs with the 41st Army Band. His professional musical organization affiliations include Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, Incorporated, Music Educator's National Conference, and the National Association of Rudimental Drummers.
